Treatment Focus: aging, LGBTQIA+ ally, trauma, life transitions
I work to empower adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, and trauma. Understanding the importance of the therapeutic relationship and earning clients’ trust, I seek to understand their needs, concerns, goals, and history. As a certified yoga instructor, I incorporate techniques and exercises that address issues of the mind as well as trauma the body can hold. While sessions are tailored to the needs of each client, treatment focuses on addressing the individual holistically.
I have experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings and worked with first responders, active military, and veterans as they addressed the daily stress and trauma associated with their jobs. I also completed the Cultural Competency Training for the Fire Service through UCF Restores, a research center and treatment facility based out of Orlando, Florida, which focuses on treating PTSD in first responders, active military, veterans, and survivors of traumatic events. In session, I incorporate these experiences with various therapeutic styles that include Gestalt, cognitive behavioral, existential, and somatic.
Clients are the experts of their own lives and hold the key to their ultimate healing. I appreciate the opportunity to metaphorically walk alongside them as they work to create the life they want. With curiosity, validation, and encouragement, I hope to provide a safe and supportive space where clients feel seen, heard, and accepted.
